HOUSTON, TEXAS (May 25, 2006) - The Natural Gas SolutionsTM division of Dresser, Inc. looked to its long and significant history to select a new name for its line of regulators. Effective June 1 the company's line of Grove regulators will be known as REDQTM regulators.
Dresser's REDQ regulators, which include Flexflo and specialty regulators, are renowned for their quality around the world. Dresser's REDQ Flexflo regulators are primarily utilized by the natural gas industry, but also serve in water and oil pipeline applications. Dresser's REDQ specialty regulators are utilized in a wide range of markets and applications, including NASA facility test benches and launch pads.
"In 1942 Marvin H "Red" Grove pioneered and perfected the innovative Grove Flexflo Regulator. Early Flexflo models were designed for water deluge applications aboard United States Liberty ships during World War II," explained John Schnitzer, manager of sales and marketing for the Dresser Natural Gas Solutions Pressure Regulation Group. "In honor of the Grove Flexflo founder, we have joined his nickname, 'Red,' with the letter Q, which is the engineering symbol that represents the flow rate in a gas sizing equation. In the new and distinctive logotype design, a half-moon is over the letter Q. That design element also reflects the product and its use; the half moon is a stylized representation of the drafting symbol used in engineering drawings to indicate a regulator."
Schnitzer noted that even with a change in the name, Dresser will continue to provide parts and service to previously installed Grove regulators. "This is just a change in the name of our regulators; the product, quality and service that our customers have long expected remain the same."
